42 Days…Time Stamp

March 31, 2008

Thanks Nic for fixing the time stamp. Now, the post yesterday is well, so yesterday! (many would say most of what I write is obsolete:)) The good news is I am hearing funds coming in and tomorrow by mid-afternoon, the thermometer should be updated. Evidence also suggests that people are beginning to use the online payment option. A great way to make a difference from a distance. Those of you contributing in so many different ways, I just want to say, “Thank-you,” words very small for such big hearted responses. I anticipate a report from one church coming sometime this week.  KOKO

43 Days–School Kicks into Gear

March 31, 2008

Hopefully everyone has had a chance to enjoy a little taste of summer break, known at this time as “Spring Break.” I know some classes will be gone this week. Mrs. Wright’s class heads out on their famous Science Camp Tuesday, returning Friday. So, beginning tomorrow (Monday), we will be right at six weeks left. Ah, those moments when time stands still…but alas, right now, it does not. So let’s make this the most memorable 43 days for all the best reasons!  KOKO

44 Days…and GMT

March 30, 2008

Just a clarification for a moment on the time stamp for each entry. The blogsite server stamps the time according to GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). This time serves as the central time keeper for the world. As I am entering this right now, according to GMT it is 2:25am, Sunday, March 30. However, here in Napa, it is 7:25pm, Saturday, March 29. Thus, there is a difference of about 7 hours. All this means is this: When I enter in the evening time (as is sometimes the case), the date will read actually the next day (as will be the case now) because the stamp is based on GMT. Thus, you will sometimes see two entries read as one day (because I may enter in the evening of one day and the morning of the next, but according to GMT, it is the same day)! How’s all that for confusion!  IOW, just follow the day mentioned and don’t worry so much about the date underneath. From what I am hearing the activity will pick up this week so stay tuned. There are some exciting things planned and you will hear more as details are available. KOKO

45 Days–Online Paying Now Available!

March 29, 2008

I want to thank Nic Hubbard for all his work in keeping the tech side of this site going. Even though he does this kind of thing as a career, he volunteers his time to keep adding components. Great job, Nic! (Emily, thanks so much for letting your husband be a part of this!)  Yep, enjoy these last few days before the rigors of climbing back into the goal pursuing seat pace up again. We are so happy to make it possible for those of you who are not local to contribute to our pursuit of this goal. So, look at the right sidebar, top and you will notice a link that now makes it possible. As we hope to send out letters over the next week to those far and near, they now have the possibility of making an immediate impact! Isn’t technology grand? Yes, check back, as I enter every day…a great way to remind myself as well of where we are in days.  KOKO

46 Days

March 28, 2008

Hard to believe Spring Break is coming to an end! Please make sure you check out the photo gallery of our students. Rest and relaxation comes to an end soon. We pick up the pace of pursuing our immediate fiscal goal. Please remember us in your prayers.   KOKO

47 Days

March 27, 2008

With almost 25% of our goal reached in almost two weeks, we are making good progress! We hope to hear from some of our churches about what has come in over the past weeks. Also, it is difficult to believe Spring Break is almost half over. Time is moving and we ask you to continue making this campaign a matter of prayer.  KOKO

48 Days Remaining

March 26, 2008

Yes, we have an updated thermometer! Just wanted to give you that info. Since this week is Spring Break, we may not have much else for the remainder of the week–though you never know. So check back–if for no other reason than to see what day we are on!  KOKO

Understanding the Timeline–49 Days Remaining

March 24, 2008

Okay, i’m feeling a little like, well, like a student studying charts to make sure i’ve got the right count so we don’t have a day of disappointment:) according to the “text,” the donor gave us a timeline beginning with the day after the K-12 board meeting. the K-12 board meeting was held on March 12. therefore, the sixty days begins on March 13. counting forward, the 60th day is May 11. having gone through this several times, i am updating now to make sure i am on the right day. so, what the title line says is the correct amount of days remaining, including this day. so, when you see the number of days remaining it will include the date of entry. 49 days includes today.

the difficulty for me over these past days are the weekends, where i hope to be more faithful entering on both Saturday (quite a busy day) and Sunday.  i’m trying to make sure, since so many of you check out this site, of the accuracy in the countdown.  koko

50 Days Left

March 23, 2008

After listening to some of you, I will be counting different now. It is a countdown type of deal. I’ve rec’d figures from one church already this weekend. Look forward to hearing from the other churches. Yes, it is Spring Break! Enjoy it…remembering our deadline takes no vacation.

Day 9–Spring Break Begins…

March 22, 2008

However, the pursuit of our goal will not stop. We have had 487 hits to date! Thanks for all of you who have made this a regular place of gathering. As you can see, we’ve updated the amount and we have now reached about 21% of our total in one full week. Let’s keep our eyes peeled to the right place, our heart open to the leading of God, and see where this ride and adventure take us. It may be a long and winding road, yet we can keep going forward. We reported to the Board last night and there is a tremendous amount of excitement. We anticipate during the week after Spring Break, we will be ready for our awesome students to send letters out. We will try to keep this blog going through Spring Break and hope to have an update from the amounts each of the churches receive over this weekend!  KOKO
